What is Pulse Synergy?

Even if you don't realize it, you've been creating rhythm your whole life. The cadence of your breathing, the way you tap your foot when you want someone to hurry up... it's all rhythm.

Pulse Synergy drumming channels your natural rhythm in a drum circle setting, turning it into a powerful tool to engage both the brain and body. Movement is essential for well-being, and movement that connects the brain and body on several levels at once can create opportunity for mindfulness and new awareness. It's all about discovering healing rhythm as a community. The best part? It's really, really fun.

Drumming for PD

Pulse Synergy — Drumming for PD

Pulse Synergy’s Drumming for Parkinson’s classes are designed to provide cognitive challenges, so important for memory and the creation of new synapses in the brain, utilizing rhythm exercises and games which expand in complexity, are flexible to individual groups, and offer opportunity for emotional awareness and reduction in social isolation and anxiety. Utilizing the Drum Circle format, drums, small percussion and tonal chimes help serve cognitive goals and group bonding. With the support of the group we are able to encourage individual expression/empowerment and at the same time experience the benefit of social connection. We employ the evidence-based Rhythm2Recovery principles which use analogies to link rhythm exercises with life experience. We do use drums, and we often come together in a circle, but this is not your typical drum circle. It’s a dynamic experience of self reflection with the synergistic power to create something bigger than the sum of its parts. Its rhythm in service of greater emotional wellbeing and social awareness. And it’s really really fun!
